About Jack

When you retain Jack Kuykendall, you receive over 40 years of experience with highly effective and ethical representation. His philosophy in the practice of law is to avoid litigation whenever possible. When litigation is necessary, however, he will zealously pursue your rights in the courtroom, utilizing creative and aggressive methods to achieve your goals. Over the years, he has achieved a very successful track record in the courtroom in jury and non jury trials and in the appeals process. 


After graduating from George Washington University law school in 1980, Jack began practicing law at a management labor law firm in Memphis, Tennessee. Moving to Dallas in 1982, he worked for a small business litigation firm and later a large law firm, where he became a partner before deciding to become a sole practitioner. 


Jack’s vast experience in bank loan workout and business related commercial counseling and litigation has given him the ability to represent his client's rights, whether it be in planning and preventative measures, negotiation, litigation, trial or otherwise. 


Jack has embraced principles of honesty and utmost integrity in all of his dealings and believes being in a position of responsibility brings with it obligations to the community. He has helped worthy causes over the years by providing pro bono services to individuals, ministries and other non-profit corporations. He has also served on the Board of Directors of non-profits. 


Jack is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law and has been awarded the AV rating by Martindale Hubbell. 


Jack has lived in North Texas since 1982. He has been married for more than 40 years and has three daughters, three sons-in-law and five grandchildren (and counting!).

Jack was born in Houston and has a long heritage in Texas. On his father’s side, Jack is a fifth-generation Texan dating back to the late 1830s, and on his mother’s side, he is a sixth-generation Texan dating back to the early 1850s. 


The Kuykendall name has a long and illustrious history in Texas. The first Kuykendalls came to Texas in 1821, and three Kuykendall brothers were part of the Old Three Hundred original families in the Austin colony. The first head of militia was Abner Kuykendall, one of the brothers.

Jack and his family spend as much time as they can at their family ranch in the Texas Hill Country, which has been in his family since 1889.
